Orthopedic Physiotherapy

Assessment and treatment for joint, muscle and post-surgical concerns — back, neck, shoulder, hip and knee.

Orthopedic physiotherapy treats the joints, muscles, tendons and nerves that carry you through the day. People come to us with low back and neck pain, shoulder and hip problems, knee injuries, tendon pain that has not settled, and recovery after an orthopedic surgery or fracture.

Assessment looks past the sore spot. Pain in one place is often the result of how load moves through the whole chain — the foot that no longer pushes off properly, the hip that gives way under a single-leg load, the ribcage that stopped rotating after a long stretch of sitting. Finding where the load is failing is usually what changes the picture.

That whole-chain view is why orthopedic and pelvic health care sit under one roof here. The deep abdominal muscles, the diaphragm and the pelvic floor manage pressure and stability for the trunk, so long-standing back or hip pain and pelvic floor symptoms frequently travel together. When that is what the assessment shows, the two are treated as one problem rather than referred back and forth.

Treatment combines hands-on techniques with an exercise plan you can actually keep up, progressed as your tolerance changes. Sessions are one-on-one with a registered physiotherapist.

What to Expect

Your first visit starts with your history — how the problem began, what makes it better or worse, and what you need to get back to. Your physiotherapist then assesses movement, strength and joint mechanics, explains what they found in plain language, and starts treatment the same day. You leave with a written plan and a small number of exercises to begin.
