Naturopathy

Naturopathic care that supports whole-body health — energy, hormones, digestion, and stress — alongside your physiotherapy and medical care.

Naturopathic medicine is provided by a Naturopathic Doctor (ND), a regulated health profession in Ontario. It looks at how nutrition, sleep, stress, digestion and hormones interact to shape how you feel from one day to the next.

A first visit is largely a detailed conversation. Your ND takes a full history covering your cycle, energy, digestion, mood and sleep, reviews any recent bloodwork you bring with you, and may suggest further testing where it is clinically useful. What follows is a plan built around your circumstances rather than a standard protocol — which may involve dietary and lifestyle changes, targeted supplementation, botanical medicine, or acupuncture.

Most people see our ND while trying to conceive, through pregnancy and postpartum recovery, or during perimenopause, when cycles, energy and sleep are all shifting at once. Others come for ongoing digestive concerns or persistent fatigue that has not been explained.

Naturopathic care is designed to work alongside your medical and physiotherapy care, not in place of it. Your ND will say plainly when something sits outside their scope and should be reviewed by your physician, and will coordinate with the rest of your team where that helps.

Recommendations are kept realistic. Rather than a long list of changes at once, your ND will usually start with the one or two that are most likely to shift how you feel, then review what actually helped before adding anything further. Supplements are suggested only where there is a clear reason, and always checked against any medication you are taking so nothing interacts.

What to Expect

Expect the first appointment to be longer than a typical visit, because most of it is history-taking. You will leave with a written plan and a clear sense of what to try first, what to monitor, and when to come back so it can be adjusted.
